Graffiti as non-verbal communication.

According to the links shared in the class blog. There are some different concepts about graffiti phenomenon in Latin America. As we saw, the graffiti topic in Colombia is related with the youth spirit of communicate and try to impact the society through the critical art in the streets, because of that, these kind of graffiti are related with colombian social realities such as political corruption, insecurity and that kind of things. 

In contrast Argentina graffiti movement, as can be appreciated in Buenos Aires, is completely different phenomenon, more related with art, and philosophy, argentinean artist are people who have turned the streets in an art gallery, where they make really complex and hard worked artworks, and the people of neighborhoods feels good with these art, saying it give life to the street.

In Brazil one of the most important graffiti artist of this country start in that work trying to share a message about environment, and with the time his message have changed to political topics, graffiti is illegal in Brazil. 

Finally in Honduras graffiti have become a way to express the bad situation that the people are living, with the insecurity, corruption, aggressive police, and a bad society, these artist put their lifes in danger by doing their artwork in the streets, because it is illegal, and authority and some people see it very bad, in contrast there are other citizens who support graffiti movement.

Non-verbal communication always giving the opportunity to share and express thought of the people and put it at the eyes of the world in the streets.

After watching the video "DiscriminACCION en Colombia", I was surprised because the source of the video. It comes from "Uniandes" and it was unexpected to me. The relation of the video with a university helped me to understand the relevance of researching and making actions about the topic of racism in a country as Colombia. 

To me was sad to know how the discrimination destroy the oportunities and make the life of afrocolombian harder, and we all know that the government is blind about this. The origin of all this problem comes since when we were a Spanish colony. Even though I hope the university comunity can make a positive change, and finish with all the things without rational sense that are happening now.

Bangkok's or Thai´s 'Mexican' Gangster are an excellent example of what globalization means. By the media all the cultures worldwide are sharing their values, believings and way of live. And in the other hand, the people around the world, are receiving the influence of all cultures; each one decides whether some specific culture are a good example, and also a good option of life. Thus begins the appropiation process that means taking superficial aspects and copy them without following the system.

So in the case of Thai´s 'Mexican' Gangster, they appropiate just the things that they saw likable and interesting as the way of wearing, tattoos, and the music and haircut style. But completely without a relation with violence and drugs, and any other illegal activity. We can learn by the article and the video, how the appropiation process is a reality that is happening now in the world, and this is not the only case, but there are so many cases like this worldwide; and don´t caring when we come from, now we make the decision of what culture each one of us want to follow and get involve.
